Emily J.H. Contois is Chapman Assistant Professor of Media Studies at the University of Tulsa. She is the author of Diners, Dudes & Diets and numerous articles on food, the body, health, and identities in media and popular culture. As a public scholar, she has appeared on public radio, CBS, BBC, and Ugly Delicious with chef David Chang on Netflix. She received her PhD (and MA) in American Studies from Brown University and holds master’s degrees in public health from UC Berkeley and gastronomy from Boston University.

We will gather together for informal conversation at 11:45am with the presentation at noon and a Q&A to follow. A recording of the talk will be posted to the UO Food Studies Facebook page and YouTube channel after the event.
