In the past five years, food has emerged as a new and vibrant theme in the academic work of an increasing number of University of Oregon faculty and students. Our group includes more than thirty faculty members across fifteen departments or programs who are directly engaged with issues related to food and agriculture. These faculty members are conducting cutting-edge research in a wide variety of food topics, are mentoring graduate students on timely and important food-related theses and dissertations, and are also offering creative and significant food-related courses to an eager and growing undergraduate constituency.
